As a journalist, I worked both as a staffer and freelance for local, national and international newspapers, magazines, TV and radio. I used this valuable experience to break into the vast "hidden" market of PR for small businesses.

I have handled thousands of successful press releases and spin-off writing projects - proving the potential demand, anywhere, for PR in the small business sector and demonstrating the ability of a small PR agency to succeed in this market.

As a journalist, my experience included responsibility for the training of a newspaper group's cub reporters, representing journalism at schools careers conventions, and working as an accredited lecturer with the National Council for the Training of Journalists.

As a PR writer, I have been selected by the Devon and Cornwall Training and Enterprise Council (TEC) to represent PR at marketing workshops for small businesses. My PR services have also been used extensively by the Careers Services of Devon and Cornwall.

Looking back, I can see that it was years before I had truly grasped the scale of the PR opportunity "on my doorstep" and before I was making the most of that opportunity.
